Police officers should be moving like ‘Jehovah witnesses’ and moving from house to house to root out the criminal elements says Government Minister Fitzgerald Hinds.
He said National Security Minister Stuart Young and the police service leadership are working to motivate every police officer to aggressively fight crime.
“They (police officers) should be highly motivated, they should be possessed of religious zeal like Jehovah witnesses to go from door to door, criminal to criminal, taxi to taxi and hunt down gun, hunt down criminal, that’s the level of motivation they supposed to be operating at in this crime season,” he said.

Jehovah’s Witnesses support disaster victims

The Ghana Branch office of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith, has invited members to come to the aid of people affected by the recent flood and fire disasters in some parts of Accra.

The invitation is a follow-up to members of the faith after initial spiritual and physical support offered by the branch office to both members and non-members affected by the deluge and inferno on June 3.

In a letter to the congregation of the faith in the Accra Metropolis, the branch office, located in Nungua, on the Accra-Tema beach road, urged members to channel their donations through the Co-ordinators of the Bodies of Elders in their local congregations.

The relief items being sought are food items, clothing materials, water, building materials, cash, accommodation; and volunteers to work on damaged properties of affected persons in the Adabraka and Alajo areas in Accra.

Shocking news. Published new Bible for homosexuals


In an effort to eliminate all known references to homosexuality as being sinful from Scripture, a new homosexual-friendly “Bible” has been released.

The “Queen James” version, which was published at the end of November, is said to be an attempt to “to prevent homophobic misinterpretation” of the Bible. Its publishers claim that the word “homosexuality” was not used in the Bible until 1946 when the Revised Standard Version was released, and that people have misunderstood the original meaning of the text.

The Court of Appeal has held that it is not illegal for a Singapore citizen to be a Jehovah's Witness, a proscribed group. He is, however, not exempted from being called up to serve his national service.
In another case, the same court held that a citizen working in an educational institution is not exempted from singing the National Anthem or reciting the National Pledge on account of his religious beliefs. In other words, in Singapore, a citizen's right to religious freedom is subordinated to the public good.

In November 2014, Svetlana Nemchinova, one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, found an envelope on the street containing 6,000 euros (over $6,800 U.S.). After a lengthy search for the owner, she was able to return the money. Ms. Nemchinova’s altruism was reported on television, the radio, and in several online news articles.

Ms. Nemchinova is a street cleaner in the city of Vologda, approximately 450 kilometers (280 mi) northeast of Moscow. While on the job, she noticed a plain envelope. Looking inside, she discovered a large sum of money. Although Ms. Nemchinova and her three children live modestly in a 12-square-meter (129 sq ft) apartment, she states: “I didn’t even think of keeping the money. Right away I thought about the person who surely was feeling terrible.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses saved woman from ‘domestic slavery’

 
A victim of domestic labour exploitation had told her story to Jehovah’s Witnesses who came to the door of her employer, eventually triggering her release, a conference on human trafficking heard yesterday.

Tina Dia, a Nigerian who first came to Ireland to work as a 17-year-old, said she lived for almost four years as a virtual prisoner before orchestrating her release.

Now 24, she came to Ireland to work with an African family based in Dublin, where she was not paid a wage, worked every day, and did not receive any holidays.

She told those attending a student-run law conference in University College Cork that during her three years and 10 months at work, she could not stay in touch with her family, make friends or pursue her studies and lived in fear of her employer.

One day Jehovah’s Witnesses came to the door, and she took the chance to tell them of her ordeal. They in turn contacted the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MRCI).

The members of the religious organisation “Jehovah’s Witnesses” Makhluk Ahmedov and Ismail Bagirov were detained in the Azerbaijani settlement Lokbatan. According to the information received, the detained were engaged in agitation, and 10 ”religious books forbidden to be disseminated” were confiscated from them, the Azerbaijani information portal “Haqqin.az” says referring to the information provided by Ministry of Internal Affairs press-service.
