How flu infected mice could mean end of blood transfusions

Researchers found that mice who were injected with the flu virus began producing large amounts of red blood cellsResearchers at University of Virginia School of Medicine find that mice injected with flu virus began producing large amounts of red blood cells, in development that could remove need for blood transfusions

Scientists have discovered an antibody that forces the body to keep producing unlimited blood, in a development that could remove the need for blood transfusions.
Researchers at the University of Virginia School of Medicine found that mice who were injected with the flu virus began producing large amounts of red blood cells.
They now say this could represent a significant step forward in the battle against anaemia and help people suffering from diabetes, kidney disease or cancer.
Scientists say that with further development the discovery could lead to doctors being able to turn on red blood cell production in humans whenever necessary.
This could see the technique used to treat people who cannot receive a blood transfusion because of their religious beliefs, such as Jehovah's Witnesses.

Sixteen Jehovah’s Witnesses may be Russia’s most pacifist ‘extremists’

TAGANROG, RUSSIA — Alexey Koptev’s transformation from a respected Soviet factory foreman to suspected extremist began in 1992, when two Jehovah’s Witnesses knocked on his front door to ask whether he kept a Bible at home.

The visit sparked a fateful religious revival in Koptev and his wife, who converted two years later in a seaside baptism. In 2011, Koptev, 71, became the target of an undercover police sting because of his ties to the religious organization, which now shares the same legal status in this city as the Islamic State or the neo-Nazi National Socialist Society.

''Global attack on religion'' - approaching?

'' Global attack on religion'' brothers and sisters indeed things are boiling to a point of no return as the topic suggests. The writers of the newspaper thought the topic was suggesting the halt of terrorism religious groups but its not like that.

In life there are many things that we can not see

In a classroom, a teacher was trying to explain the evolution theory to her student, she as a fact took her students outside, pointing to the sky she asked 'Can u all see God?' well since the student couldn't see God they replied 'No'.

Time fulfillment of the prophecy already near...!!!

Brother and sisters like I once said that 2015 is wonderful more than any year in history. As world events enroll in a very fascinating and dramatic manner. All we can proudly say FATHER JEHOVAH is at hand to make a violent scenery the nations have never seen and again it shall never happen. As the prophecy is unfolding, things that strike humanity are starting to show up. In this year 2015 in the month of August the 8th, happened an incident that made myself to think what will happen to the globe when the prophecy reaches its climax. In that day everything was calm and humid.

Russia Should Embrace Its Religious Diversity

How will Europe's human rights court respond to a government that treats a pacifist religious group as a dangerous extremist cell? The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will answer that question this summer when it rules on whether Russia's prosecution of Jehovah's Witnesses under its extremism law criminalizes freedom of religion or belief.
A ruling against the Kremlin could be a landmark decision for Russia, affecting not only Jehovah's Witnesses. From Muslims to dissenting members of the Moscow Patriarchate Russian Orthodox Church (MPROC), other Russians are also caught in the wide net cast by this overly broad law.

-' It was your father who paid for your studies? '

-' Yes.'- He replied.

-' Where does your father work? '

Jehovah’s Witnesses support disaster victims

The Ghana Branch office of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith, has invited members to come to the aid of people affected by the recent flood and fire disasters in some parts of Accra.

The invitation is a follow-up to members of the faith after initial spiritual and physical support offered by the branch office to both members and non-members affected by the deluge and inferno on June 3.

In a letter to the congregation of the faith in the Accra Metropolis, the branch office, located in Nungua, on the Accra-Tema beach road, urged members to channel their donations through the Co-ordinators of the Bodies of Elders in their local congregations.

The relief items being sought are food items, clothing materials, water, building materials, cash, accommodation; and volunteers to work on damaged properties of affected persons in the Adabraka and Alajo areas in Accra.

Shocking news. Published new Bible for homosexuals

In an effort to eliminate all known references to homosexuality as being sinful from Scripture, a new homosexual-friendly “Bible” has been released.

The “Queen James” version, which was published at the end of November, is said to be an attempt to “to prevent homophobic misinterpretation” of the Bible. Its publishers claim that the word “homosexuality” was not used in the Bible until 1946 when the Revised Standard Version was released, and that people have misunderstood the original meaning of the text.

Russia’s Jehovah's Witnesses have scored a rare legal victory

After years of problems, the religious group scores a rare legal victory. A Moscow court had banned them in 2004.

Moscow  – Russia’s Jehovah's Witnesses have scored a rare legal victory. The Russian Justice Ministry had officially registered their Moscow branch as a religious organisation, this according to a statement issued yesterday by the group’s press service.
The press released noted that it had been banned in 2004 by a Moscow court, accused of recruiting children, encouraging the faithful to abandon their families, inciting suicide and preventing their followers from accepting medical treatment.
In 2010, the European Court of Human Rights called the ruling unjustified and ordered it be overturned.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- More than 1,000 attended NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital's forum on bloodless medicine at Beckwithe Pointe in New Rochelle on Saturday.
Nine physicians and surgeons talked about the ways surgeries and other medical procedures are carried out without the need forblood transfusions. Those included minimally invasive “keyhole” surgeries, robotic surgeries and other methods.

Many of those in attendance were Jehovah’s Witnesses, who avoid blood transfusions as a religious matter.

Hundreds of protesters showed up to protest the event, which was held on Saturday morning and continued throughout the day, after a prolonged court struggle in which the municipality unsuccessfully attempted to cancel the event.
Two days, earlier, a district court ruled that the objection to the event infringed on the right to freedom of religion and ritual and overturned the municipality’s decision to cancel the event so as not to “hurt the feelings of the public.”

Perfect Love

A man and his girlfriend were married. All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony.
The bride was gorgeous in her white wedding gown and the groom was very dashing in his black suit. Everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true. A few months later, the wife came to the husband with a proposal: “I read in a magazine, a while ago, about how we can strengthen our marriage.” she offered. “Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together.”

Famous Jehovah’s Witnesses

Throughout history, many Jehovah’s Witnesses have been acclaimed for earthly achievements in the arts, science, politics and sports. Sadly, many experienced spiritual shipwreck. But such is not always the case. In this post we take a look at a few of our brothers and sisters in the faith, whom we can look upon proudly, not just for their great accomplishments, but also for continuing to loyally serve Jehovah through thick and thin. Fame and fortune are often enemies of faith, but these brothers and sisters are proof that such is not always the case.

Jehovah's Witnesses in Singapore

Freedom of religion
SECOND, Article 15 of the Singapore Constitution guarantees the freedom of religion and the right to propagate one's religion.
The Court of Appeal has held that it is not illegal for a Singapore citizen to be a Jehovah's Witness, a proscribed group. He is, however, not exempted from being called up to serve his national service.
In another case, the same court held that a citizen working in an educational institution is not exempted from singing the National Anthem or reciting the National Pledge on account of his religious beliefs. In other words, in Singapore, a citizen's right to religious freedom is subordinated to the public good.

Russian Jehovah's Witness finds €6,000 and returns money to owner

In November 2014, Svetlana Nemchinova, one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, found an envelope on the street containing 6,000 euros (over $6,800 U.S.). After a lengthy search for the owner, she was able to return the money. Ms. Nemchinova’s altruism was reported on television, the radio, and in several online news articles.

Ms. Nemchinova is a street cleaner in the city of Vologda, approximately 450 kilometers (280 mi) northeast of Moscow. While on the job, she noticed a plain envelope. Looking inside, she discovered a large sum of money. Although Ms. Nemchinova and her three children live modestly in a 12-square-meter (129 sq ft) apartment, she states: “I didn’t even think of keeping the money. Right away I thought about the person who surely was feeling terrible.”

How did you end up in this position?
Well, when I started out, I was a criminal defense attorney in Waco for 13 years and did a lot of big cases—capital murders. I might have tried more capital murders than anybody in Texas. If you go back to the Waco Tribune, they had an article that said I represented the baddest of the bad.

Farmer, sheep and wolves

Illustration given at a circuit assembly:

There was a farmer who raised sheep and had trouble with wolves stealing his sheep. He loved his sheep and didn't want to lose even one of them. One day the wolves came and the farmer quickly raised his rifle and POW! - killed every wolf he shot at. As he turned his rifle toward a shadow he saw a puppy wolf huddling beside a fence post shivering. The farmer felt sorry for him, picked him up, tucked him inside his coat and took him home. As time passed, the farmer grew to love the puppy wolf and took him everyday to help him tend his sheep. The sheep loved the puppy wolf too and thought of him as one of them. The puppy wolf learned to call the sheep by their names, just like the farmer did. It wasn't long before he grew to full size and the farmer trusted him to care for his sheep while he rode to town to buy supplies.

Jason Worilds. Quits Football to Focus on Jehovah's Witnesses

With all the surprises that were delivered around the NFL Tuesday, Jason Worilds has pulled another. The Steelers free agent linebacker announced early this morning that he was leaving football.

And the Steelers believe he means it.

Jason Worilds has gone from having NFL teams pounding on his door, urging him to take their tens of millions of dollars to play for them, to perhaps literally knocking on doors to convert others to his religion.

He gave up football for faith.

Steelers sources told the Post-Gazette today that they believe Worilds, who became an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, is serious about walking away from football at the age of 27 to work for his religion, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and that there is no hidden agenda involved in his decision.

The Wolves Within

An old Grandfather, whose grandson came to him with anger at a schoolmate who had done him an injustice, said, "Let me tell you a story. I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times."

He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so, and in the right way."

Stephen Lett - Member of Governing Body about Child Abuse at Jehovah's Witnesses

Stephen Lett comment on tv.jw.org broadcasting about actual accusations of child abuse handling in the organization, some of them in court cases:

“Another way we can contribute to the oneness: rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from Jehovah’s organization. As an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and dishonesties that Jehovah’s organization is permissive toward pedophiles. I mean, that is ridiculous, isn’t it! If anybody takes action against someone who would threaten our young ones, and takes action to protect our young ones, it is Jehovah’s organization. We reject outright such lies.”
